Last year, we got our first design award, and now we were awarded our first Noonies!
When in March 2021, Wojtek Hanzel, our Full Stack JavaScript Developer, wrote an article about React Hooks, no one could know that a few months after Gorrion would be nominated for Noonies 2021. But we did! And, what’s better – we won!
Thanks to the article, we were recognized as the 2021 HackerNoon Contributor of the Year in the React.js category. 🏆
Improve Your Application Performance With React Hooks is the winning article by Wojtek, in which he talks about the basics of hooks, the variety of them as well as describes in more detail useEffect, useMemo, useState, and useCallback.

The Noonies are the greenest awards in the tech industry brought by HackerNoon, a place for people in tech to learn and share their knowledge. As they say on their website, they’re the tech equivalent of Oprah.
So thank you, tech Oprah! Thanks for the recognition!
And just to be clear – we don’t intend to stop here. There will be more articles as well as more infographics and comparisons about React.js, so stay tuned!
